More about Stéphanie
Biography
Cassius was founded by Stéphanie Cassimon, an experienced attorney with a deep-rooted passion for solving complex legal issues without the need for years of litigation.
After earning her Master of Laws degree from the University of Antwerp, Stéphanie moved to New York, where she earned an LL.M. from Fordham University. During her studies, she also completed internships at the renowned firms Hand, Baldachin & Associates LLP and TED Conferences (known for the TED Talks), where she learned the importance of striking the right balance between legal and commercial considerations in practice.
At the start of her internship at the Antwerp Bar, Stéphanie revealed herself to be a detail-oriented legal mind and paperwork powerhouse.
Before joining Cassius, she worked at two Antwerp law firms, focusing on dispute resolution and broadening her interests to national and international asset protection and planning. In light of this, she took the International Management of Family Wealth course at the University of Monaco in collaboration with STEP.
Throughout the last years, she gained vast experience in the equestrian sector. She advises clients on a wide range of legal matters, from the sale and purchase of horses to contract drafting and post-purchase disputes. Drawing on her in-depth knowledge of contract law, liability law, and dispute resolution, she provides clear, practical advice tailored to the specific realities of the horse world — whether you are a breeder, trader, rider, or equestrian business.
Admitted to the Antwerp Bar in January 2019, Stéphanie obtained the 'Cassation in Criminal Matters' certificate in November 2023, which qualifies her to handle criminal cases before the Belgian Court of Cassation. She is committed to ongoing professional development to provide the most adequate service to her clients.
To maintain and develop her international network, she recently joined AIJA (https://www.aija.org). She is also a member of STEP (https://www.step.org/) and may carry the title 'TEP' (Trust and Estate Practitioner). She also regularly attends alumni events at her alma mater, Fordham Law School.
